“I have never been one to think I needed someone to help me get in shape. When I went on one of my fitness binges, I worked out furiously, achieved my weight loss, and then stopped. I never considered ‘maintaining’ a healthy lifestyle. I know now that what I was doing was wrong.

Somewhere along the way I learned that getting in shape and maintaining a healthy lifestyle was the right thing to do – given my history, I just wasn’t confident I could do that by myself.

I didn’t know what to expect when I called Fitness Together. I met with Bruce; he quizzed me on my objectives. I thought I had one objective, he pointed out I really had many, i.e. lose weight, increase my strength and flexibility, improve my coordination, cardiovascular health, and increase my energy and endurance. Further, he explained that the FT program would only be successful if I committed to changing my lifestyle for the better. Bruce promised Fitness Together would do their part if I promised to do my part. I signed up.

I have had many good coaches in my life, my Fitness Together trainer is at the top of the list. She reviewed my goals with me, tested my strength and flexibility, quizzed me on my eating habits then used this information to continuously develop and update a program specifically for me. It didn’t stop there, she provided ongoing motivation, taught me new exercises, explained why they were important, what muscle groups they targeted and why they were all part of an overall fitness program. She was the reason I achieved my personal goal – to be in good physical condition for a family trip to Hawaii in October. Hiking, biking, sea kayaking, even cliff jumping into the blue waters of the Pacific! I would not have enjoyed any of it as much as I did without Kim’s commitment to me. Her commitment to me and my objectives was exemplary. I could not have done what I have without Fitness Together.

So, thank you for taking the time to thoroughly explain the program to me that first consultation, for making a commitment to your customers, for the fully equipped ‘private’ training rooms, and most importantly for having professional personal trainers like Kim on staff.”

I just wanted to express my appreciation to you and the Fitness Together Team for what has been one of the best investments I've made.

What I found in Fitness Together was better than I could have imagined. I found the trainers to be especially knowledgeable and also in a lot of other aspects of training besides weight training and very caring of my personal goals. As a result of my workouts, my annual physical this year in December showed improvements over the previous year in my blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar ratings; I finally was able to pass my lung capacity test that I was unable to pass in the last three years; and best of all, I improved my bone density with just (5) months of weight training. Other benefits of my weight training that I had not really planned on were dropping a pant size, having a noticeably more toned body (at least that's what my friends have been telling me), actually having fun in the training sessions and achieving a greatly improved self confidence. That's pretty good for someone who is just this side of being 60 years old!

Tom, my lead trainer, needs to be especially complimented for putting the "fun" element into the sessions. Even when some of the routines started to get more difficult, he made sure each one was achievable and not boring. I actually looked forward to each session.
