About Bruce

Bruce Carpman BSME, NSCA CSCS

As a mechanical engineer, Bruce has always had a passion for high performance machines of all types. After many years studying and designing cars, motorcycles, bikes, speakers, and just about anything else he could get the opportunity to work with, he finally discovered the most incredible high performance machine: The human body! After years of reading and studying about this amazing machine, he and his Fitness Together trainers are ready to help you accomplish your fitness and sports performance goals.

His degree is in mechanical engineering, which may seem strange for a personal trainer, but the logic and problem solving ability this education has given him has really helped him to better design programs that really help his clients accomplish their goals. After all, the human body is just a very complex machine, with very complex interactions (diet, exercise, age, genetics, etc.).

Bruce's certification is through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Since he was training people informally long before he pursued actual certification, he really knew what he was looking for in a certification organization. There are many ways to get certified as a personal trainer, but NSCA is certainly one of the most highly respected. Bruce is considered a "Strength and Conditioning Specialist". This is the certification many physical therapists, sports science researchers, and professional athletic trainers have.
